A lot will come to the mind of intending bloggers of which most are after the profit derived from such engagement. The truth of the fact is, ‘blogging is not as easy as people think’.

As such many starters may lose grip in the journey of blogging as a result of not having first-hand knowledge or information about what they are about to face in the blogging world. Most lose passion, resources, dedication and some at the extreme state quit!

Beyond all these, what an intended blogger needs is full packaged information about the field intended. Now, let’s run through what a person must keep in mind before starting a blog.

1.         What are Your Objectives?

This is the first question to ask yourself as an aspiring blogger, is what your objectives entails. The question may seem like a simple one to answer.

The issue of blogging is not a quick-quick thing. Just before you start, sit up and set what your goals or objectives are which will translates to setting up yourself for success and what you want to be the result of your blog.

You want to turn blogging into a full time agenda or part-time one; you may also want to monetise it too. These are among the things you need to consider before kick starting a blog.

Even though your goals may change overtime, setting your objectives helps in streamlining your activities towards your desired goal.

2.         Consider Your Blog Specialty

This involves what you want to write about and what type of content you want to create. This maybe technology, sports, fashion, health, news and so on. Having a niche determines the direction of a blog. While considering in mind the niche you want your blog to dwell on, consider picking a niche that is sustainable and you can never run dry while creating contents overtime.

To complements, while picking a niche I will advise you not to opt in for a niche that is stale or trending where much bloggers write on daily. Readers can easily lose interest in such kind of blog.

3.         Your Passion

This is what most bloggers do not put in mind before starting blogging. Blogging is not an easy task! A lot of factors and situations can discourage blogger but what keeps the continuity of the game is passion. Getting a good niche will help in this line of direction. If you love what you are wring about you will be more motivated about sticking to it and contributing your resources to it.

4.         Traffic Generation

Considering the precious time you will spend in building your blog, creating great contents and sustaining the interest of your targeted audience, it will not be too demanding for you to set out your marketing plan for your website from the outset. There are different ways to drive traffic to a website. This may be through social media platforms, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), advertisements.

5.         Your Website

Putting your website functionality into consideration is also very important before starting a blog. What do you want your site to be able to do and how much control do you want to have over the customisation.

6.         Invest In Your Blog

Investing on your blog alongside your dedication will go a long way. This starts from not opting in for a free blogging platform which may disinterest your audience. For instance blogging with a domain name like cvbnx.wordpress.com will not interest readers. Why not put in your money to build a website from the scratch, domain name and hosting.

Another means of investment is giving time and dedication towards creating great contents to spice up the interest of audience. Do not forget to invest in yourself through knowledge, tutorial videos and books.

7.         Ask Questions

Like I stated earlier, blogging is not a quick-quick thing. Calm your nerves down before and ask questions before venturing into blogging. Asking questions before venturing into blogging can never be a mistake for you. Ask as much questions as you can. You will certainly be acquainted with the dos and don’ts of those who have been in the game before you.

8.         Do Not Give Up!

This is what most starters will never consider. Blogging is not an easy job! It requires your patience, dedication, time, commitment, ideas, investment, knowledge and resources to be a successful blogger. When it seems the road is rough for you when you start blogging, it may be as a result of not doing the needful or overdoing the needful. Just keep your cool and source for information and ideas from different quarters you may want to opt in for.
