In one of my previous post, I discussed on how virus find ways into computer. In the past when smartphones were not rampant attention of virus was directed to computer system. However, this article will discuss the 10 signs indicating your phone is infected with virus.

Do not be surprise if I tell you that most times, smartphones get hooked up with virus since computers do. Even, virus finds it way easily to phones, tablets than computer.

We use applications, checks out ads, check emails, visit social media, visit websites and do a lot of things that computer do on your phones nowadays. Smartphones are just as vulnerable as regular computers! Let’s check out signs indicating your phone is infected with virus.

1.         Crashing Apps

This sign may also be confused with application problems. Maybe you are using an application and suddenly the application crashes and this is not how the application operates before. This should ring an alarm that your phone may be infected with virus.

However, if your phone suddenly crashes, it does not mean it has virus unless it occurs repeatedly. Almost all viruses deal with applications, when they invade a smartphone and as a result applications may not work as they used to.

2.         Battery Life

This sign may be confused with having a bad battery condition or perhaps an old battery condition. When your phone is infected with virus, the battery gets drained much faster than usual.

Nowadays, a lot of smartphone are created with a great battery quality that some can last up to two days on a single charge. If you realised that on a single charge and without much engagement with your phone, your phone battery get drained at a fast rate, you should be suspicious of virus infection.

3.         Greater Usage of Data

One of the first signs to show that your phone is infected with virus is the excessive consumption of it data which is simply because the virus is doing it job in the context.

If your smartphone is infected with a virus, there will be a great increase in the amount of data usage this can happen by using the data source of your phone to send out information and send pop up ads. You can curb this by following this procedure.

Go to the settings menu > Go to network and internet > Go to data usage > Go to billing cycle > Go to set data limit.

4.          Phone Overheats

When your phone overheats, it may be as a result of virus infection. This may also be confused with an old battery situation or engaging in intense processes on phone.

If you get to know that your smartphone is slow in operations and heats up when you do not use it much, it is most likely infected with a virus. Virus uses smartphone capacity, therefore putting a serious tension on the phone and as a result it becomes difficult to remove.

5.          Degrading Performance

When your smartphone’s performance is not up to per as it was before, this is a sign of virus. At times poor performance may not always mean virus invasion. The reason may be that you may have overwhelmed your smartphone.

Overwhelming can occur when a phone with a small internal storage memory is filled up with applications and files. That smartphone’s performance will definitely be poor!

6.         Regular Pop-Ups

Getting regular pop-ups is an annoying sign of virus invasion on your phone. Regular ads and pop-ups appearing on the screen are true signs that your phone has virus.

This may be as a result of downloading an application with adware on your phone. In such situations, such ads and pop-ups are linked to a malicious website. Clicking on such links may have resulted in virus infection.

When you find yourself in such circumstance, check your phone for applications that you just downloaded or received which brought along adware and uninstall it immediately. Also delete the APK file of such application to erase it existence totally on your phone.

7.         Calls Disruptions

Sometimes, disruptions during call may be as a result of network default or probably as a result of the weather conditions. If you experience disruptions during calls or your calls often drop which occurs on regular basis this should spring up your suspicions of virus infection.

8.         You Found Applications on Your Phone

This is also a very common sign of virus invasion on your phone. You are very much certain that you did not download any application or even receive it from a friend but suddenly you realise that some applications just sprung up suddenly on your phone. This is definitely a sign of virus infection!

Some virus can install unfamiliar applications on your device. These applications are made to look like real apps. If you see such an application like this it is important to uninstall them.

9.         Phone Making Unauthorised Calls or Messages

Unauthorised phone calls or messages should raise your suspicions concerning likelihood of virus infection. Some viruses are specially created to make calls and send messages from a smartphone.

If any of your friends, relatives or any person close to you did not use your phone and you suddenly find call logs on your phone or messages you did not authorise, this is a sign of virus infection.

10.         Extra Charges on Phone Bill

When you realise that there is a serious billing on your phone, this should ring alarm that your phone is infected with virus.

Some virus send messages themselves and sometimes if they have accomplished there mission they uninstall themselves. Suspicious subscription billing may also indicate that virus has invaded your phone.
